Relationships and connection can heal us all.

Relational therapy allows you space to express yourself authentically. As a Registered Social Worker, I’m here to ensure your experience is met with compassion, openness, and curiosity.

About Me

Helping you find a new way forward.

As a therapist in training with the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), I’ll work to create a space for you to slow down, reflect, and better understand who you are, and how you want to be in the world. We can explore connections in your life, patterns of relating to others, and make sense of your experience together.

Areas of Focus

Feel supported and understood
– no matter what’s happening in your life.

My approach to therapy maintains an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, compassionate, and queer/trans positive lens.

Grief

Loss is part of the human experience. Grief can be present even when good change happens.

Life Transitions

Change can feel overwhelming, but more manageable with someone to support your journey.

Gender & Sexuality

Everyone’s needs are different. Let’s explore yours together. We’ll move at your pace.

Relationships

We‘re wired for connection. Relationships are a vital part of the human experience.

Athletes/Sport

Our bodies are capable of incredible things; however teamwork, competition, and injury can bring unique challenges.

Stress & Overwhelm

With competing priorities and so much demanding our attention, let’s slow down together and discuss those pressures.

Frequently asked questions

Questions? Here are some answers.

  • My rate is $120 per 50-minute session. Please ask me about sliding scale spots if the full fee doesn’t feel accessible. I save a limited number of spots for those who need them and can let you know if one is available.

  • I work with adults (18+) who live in Ontario, Canada. My areas of focus include: life transitions, grief, relationships, gender and sexuality exploration, and stress and overwhelm. I also have a particular interest in working with individuals involved in athletics and sport. While this includes those currently involved and competing, it can also include those who may be experiencing a shift in identity as their relationship with sport changes due to injury or retirement.

  • I’m currently practicing virtually using Jane App, a Personal Health and Information Act (PHIPA) secure platform. Phone sessions are also possible as needed.

  • I see clients on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

  • I’m currently training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), an accredited educational program with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). My work as a student therapist is done under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist/Senior Faculty at TIRP.

I completed a Master of Social Work at the University of Louisville in 2014 and am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (License 824542).

Since 2012, I’ve done work at shelters, hospice, drop-ins, crisis phone lines, community health centres, and inpatient health units with clients, spanning a wide range of social locations, situations, and needs.

  • Some clients may opt for a few sessions, while others may continue in our work together for many months or years. The number of sessions will depend entirely on your needs. Relational therapy takes time, as the nature of the work allows us to explore, get curious, and dive deeper into patterns, while making meaning together.

  • I require a 24-hour notice prior to your appointment, in order for you to avoid being charged for the session.

  • It’s super easy to book a consultation. Just email me at hello@ashleyedwardsontherapy.ca.
